Title: Merchant

It is only an assumed connection between the three branches of the
Langermann family. It has not yet been proven that Leopold, Paul and
Gertrud are brothers and sister. However, Paul is the son of Bernhard
Langermann who in 1505 married Margaretha Crantz in Hamburg,
Germany. Some records have it that he was born in 1458, others in 1485.
He died before 21 Nov 1541 or 1544, and according to some records in
1534 in Hamburg. Other records set the date as 1542.
Bernhard Langermann could have immigrated to the ‘free Hanseatic city’
of Hamburg from Nuremberg or Bavaria.
It is further expected that the Langermann (von Langermann) and Lang-
mann families are related, but this has not yet been proven.

eines Erbes in Ness. oo bef 1532 Margarethe Cranz or Krantz).
The family came from Muenster in Westfalen, and presumably before that
from Nuremberg.
Volume 142 of Deutsches Geschlechterbuch has his father as Hans
Langermann, Buchdrucker (printer) + aft 1512 in Muenster, Westfalen. It
is, however, more likely that Hans was his uncle.
