Ioann followed King of Lombardy and Emperor Heinrich II (Saint Henry) to
Nürnberg in 1019, and became the first Bürgermeister in the city.
Assumed to have been associated with the German stock exchange
warehouse, the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venezia. (The fondaco near the
Rialto bridge is first mentioned in AD 1228, but the forerunner of this
warehouse dates back to the time of Emperor Theodosius in the 4th
century AD).
